Kingston, Jamaica, March 3, 2026— The Release School Tour has officially concluded its sixth and final national staging, completing a powerful run across seven institutions in Jamaica: The Moneague College (A Multi-Disciplinary Institution), St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS), University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC), Excelsior Community College (ECC), G.C. Foster College of Physical Education & Sport, Guys Hill High School, and Tivoli Gardens High School.
The tour was conceptualized under The Release brand and planned and executed by Taylor Made Events & PR Management, responsible for coordinating logistics, partnerships, exhibitor engagement, and the integrated seminar and entertainment framework that defines the experience. The 2026 tour was powered by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, sponsored by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information. Their involvement strengthened the tour’s core mandate of exposing students to structured entrepreneurship pathways while reinforcing national workforce development priorities.
Now in its sixth year, this staging marks the final School Tour under The Release banner. Over the past six years, the initiative has consistently delivered a balanced message to Jamaican youth — encouraging entrepreneurship while also equipping students with clarity around entering the world of work. This dual focus has positioned the tour as more than a motivational experience; it has functioned as a bridge between policy, opportunity, and practical exposure.
The Release, a Caribbean media platform with both local and international reach, has maintained the School Tour as one of its flagship annual initiatives. Throughout its lifespan, the tour has largely been self-funded. This year, however, the strategic partnership with government ministries enabled the production to deliver a final staging at a strengthened national scale.
Founder and CEO Talisa Taylor describes the conclusion as meaningful and reflective. “I feel it is bittersweet that this is our final tour under The Release. For six years, we have predominantly hosted the tour out of pocket because we believed deeply in the mission. This year, with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce — Jamaica’s Business Ministry — and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, we were able to execute this final run at a level that truly reflects the vision. We are excited, we are grateful, and we are sincerely thankful for their contribution, particularly for providing strong exhibitors and knowledgeable speakers who strengthened our seminar component.”
Taylor, whose professional background is rooted in education, notes that the foundation of the tour emerged directly from her teaching experience. “My background is in teaching, and it is from that foundation that The Release School Tour was conceptualized. I saw the need for students to move beyond theory and gain exposure to real-world systems — ministries, entrepreneurs, business owners, and structured employment pathways. In Jamaica’s current economic climate, entrepreneurship must be encouraged; however, it must be presented responsibly. Students must understand that they have options — to build, to innovate, or to enter the workforce strategically. The balance is critical.”
A defining highlight of the 2026 tour was the growth of student exhibitors. Across multiple campuses, particularly at the high school level, students showcased their own brands and businesses within the Business Village component. “The student exhibitors have been one of the most rewarding aspects of this year’s tour,” Taylor shared. “Seeing high school students confidently operating businesses, presenting their products, and engaging with corporate and government stakeholders is exactly why the tour exists. Exposure builds belief, and belief builds economic participation.”
While education and policy access remained central pillars, the tour also retained its culturally engaging entertainment component. Performances throughout the islandwide run included appearances by Macka Diamond, Shane O, 1Chappzs, Complex Rickii, Inpha Reblitive, Fire Ski, and other contributing entertainers who helped create an energetic yet structured environment for student engagement. The entertainment package complemented the educational messaging, ensuring that students experienced empowerment within a culturally relevant framework.
